A little HOWTO about installing the right avifile and xvid codec for Drip In order get have Drip create avi's properly , you need avifile 0.7.34 and xvid-0.9.2 : avifile >> http://drip.sourceforge.net/files/avifile-0.7.34-20030319.tgz xvid >> http://drip.sourceforge.net/files/xvidcore-0.9.2.tar.gz (Older versions might work, but are not tested. Newer avifile versions will not compile or not support multiple chunk avi creation, newer versions of xvid will not compile. I've put a copy of both tested versions here on the Drip site to ensure their availability.) Before installing make sure your host is clean of other versions of avifile, remove the libs from /usr/local/lib/libavi* and clean up any xvid installations. Now install xvid 1st, and avifile 2nd. You should not install the win32 codecs. After this is done compile drip, install it, and select the XVID codec once Drip is running. Also check the audio codec, which is resetted after the codecs for avifile are changed. Now your Drip should produce OK xvid avi's. THE POINT IS YOU INSTALL THESE PACKAGES ON A CLEAN HOST. A PREVIOUS INSTALL OF AVIFILE WILL MAKE DRIP CRASH, ONLY 0.7.34 IS TESTED TO WORK. Bstard / 10-2-2004
